About Elise Baker

Photography has always been a big part of my life, especially as I was growing up. I have always been interested in taking pictures and saving memories. I got my first photography award when I was in kindergarten. Although photography did not develop into more than a hobby until I was in high school. In high school, I learned how to do all parts of darkroom photography. If I didn't have those classes, I'm not sure where I would be right now. I have my Bachelors of Science in Photography from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh.

While what I loved the most about the darkroom was the control I had over my art, I found that Photoshop granted me the same ability. I began falling in love with compositing images to intertwine deeper symbolism and meaning into my work.  I spent hours and hours taking in all the knowledge I could hold from online tutorials and my instructors, amazed at what could be done with software.

Now, my portfolio is built of fashion, advertisements, and of course, conceptual work.

I am truly thankful for everyone who has gotten me to where I am today, and to those who are always pushing me forward. Without all of you, I have no idea where my work might be- and so I would like to extend a huge thank you to my instructors, friends and family in Pittsburgh, Michigan, and Ohio, and Florida.
